  12. <Introduction>
  13.  Abroad! is a suite of three applications: Currency Exchange, Unit 
  14. Conversion and World Clock, and a powerful Country Information 
  15. Database, designed to help you when you go "Abroad!". 
  16.  
  17.  Imagine you're travelling in Japan and you decide to have dinner 
  18. at a sushi restaurant. Currency Exchange will tell you that your 
  19. delicious "Tokujou Nigiri Set : 5,000 Yen" will set you back US$44, 
  20. or the equivalent in many other currencies, and if you order 1 "gou" 
  21. of sake Unit Conversion will tell you know what you're letting 
  22. yourself in for in US pints, Imperial pints, litres or whatever. 
  23.  And when should you call your family back home to wish them 
  24. pleasant dreams?" No problem! World Clock will tell you the 
  25. time wherever they are in the world.

  27.  In addition, the Country Information Database provides you with 
  28. country specific information on over 260 countries and territories 
  29. world-wide, just a stylus-tap away. It includes each country's 
  30. location on the world map, the nation's capital city, currency 
  31. (code and name), time (current time, variation from GMT, DST 
  32. period) and local telephone information (country code, area code 
  33. of capital, international dialling prefix). Naturally, you can 
  34. search the information by keyword.

  42. This manual and all accompanying files may be distributed 
  43. freely, provided that:

  205. Abroad! is SHAREWARE. This means that if you use this program
  206. and decide to keep it, or in other terms, you have used it for
  207. a couple of days and like it, you are required to send me a
  208. small fee of US $10. If you send me the shareware fee once,
  209. NO additional fee is required for the future version. I will
  210. use the fee as a part of the annual updates of developing 
  211. tools and new machine I bought for pilot application 
  212. development last year.

  214. <How to register>
  215. There are two ways to register Abroad!
  216.  
  217. Register on Web Page (Pilot Gear) or use kagi service using
  218. registration program.
  219.

  225. You can send me the fee through Kagi service using 
  226. REGISTER.EXE (Windows) or Register (compressed as MACREG.SIT,
  227. Mac user).
  228. If you send me the fee directly, please do NOT send me US$10
  229. with your checks. (More than $10 is charged for exchange a check 
  230. to money in Japan!) Please use postal order or US$10 bill itself 
  231. (if it is legal).

  233. Paying for Abroad! is fairly simple. Open the Register program
  234. that accompanies Abroad!. Enter your name, your email address,
  235. and the number of single user licenses you desire for each 
  236. program you wish to purchase). Save or Copy or Print the data
  237. from the Register program and send the data and payment to 
  238. Kagi. More specifics on the Register program to follow. Kagi
  239. handles my payment processing.
  240.  
  241. If paying with Credit Card or First Virtual, you can email or
  242. fax the data to Kagi. Their email address is sales@kagi.com
  243. and their fax number is +1 510 652-6589. You can either Copy
  244. the data from Register and paste into the body of an email 
  245. message or you can Save the data to a file and you can attach
  246. that file to an email message. There is no need to compress
  247. the data file, it's already pretty small. If you have a fax
  248. modem, just Print the data to the Kagi fax number.

  250. Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. You
  251. will receive an email acknowledgement when it is processed.
  252. Payments sent via fax take up to 10 days and if you provide
  253. a correct internet email address you will receive an email
  254. acknowledgement.
  255.  
  256. If you are paying with Cash or USD Check you should print the
  257. data using the Register application and send it to the address
  258. shown on the form, which is:

  265. You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different 
  266. countries but at present if you pay via check, it must be a
  267. check drawn in US Dollars. Kagi cannot accept checks in other
  268. currencies, the conversion rate for non-USD checks is around
  269. USD 15 per check and that is just not practical.
  270. If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all the 
  271. data into the Register program and then select Invoice as your
  272. payment method. Print three copies of the form and send it to
  273. your accounts payable people. You might want to highlight the
  274. line that mentions that they must include a copy of the form
  275. with their payment.
  276. Kagi can not invoice your company, you need to act on my 
  277. behalf and generate the invoice and handle all the paperwork
  278. on your end.
  279.  
  280. Please do not fax or email payment forms that indicate Cash,
  281. Check or Invoice as the payment method. As far as we know, 
  282. there is still no technology to transfer physical objects via
  283. fax or email and without the payment, the form cannot be processed.
  284. Payments send via postal mail take time to reach Kagi and then
  285. up to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include a correct
  286. email address, you will hear from Kagi when the form is processed.
  287. When you pay, we tell you your registration ID with which you
  288. can register your copy. If you do not have an email address,
  289. please enter your complete postal address and please 
  290. remember, we do not know what country you live in so please
  291. enter that into the postal address also.
  292.  
  293. <Restrictions>
  294. The author will not take responsibility for any damage or loss
  295. that occurs using this program. If you have any bug-reports
  296. or improvements you would like to see (including my poor
