<Introduction>
Abroad! is a suite of three applications: Currency Exchange, Unit
Conversion and World Clock, and a powerful Country Information
Database, designed to help you when you go "Abroad!".
Imagine you're travelling in Japan and you decide to have dinner
at a sushi restaurant. Currency Exchange will tell you that your
delicious "Tokujou Nigiri Set : 5,000 Yen" will set you back US$44,
or the equivalent in many other currencies, and if you order 1 "gou"
of sake Unit Conversion will tell you know what you're letting
yourself in for in US pints, Imperial pints, litres or whatever.
And when should you call your family back home to wish them
pleasant dreams?" No problem! World Clock will tell you the
time wherever they are in the world.
In addition, the Country Information Database provides you with
country specific information on over 260 countries and territories
world-wide, just a stylus-tap away. It includes each country's
location on the world map, the nation's capital city, currency
(code and name), time (current time, variation from GMT, DST
period) and local telephone information (country code, area code
of capital, international dialling prefix). Naturally, you can
search the information by keyword.
Have a nice trip!
Notice: All the settings will be initialized until you register and
several restrictions in function.
<Distribution>
This manual and all accompanying files may be distributed
freely, provided that:
1. Neither text nor any other file is modified in any way. No
file may be omitted nor added in the distribution.
2. No money may be charged for the program nor for any
accompanying files, other than the usual downloading time fees
charged by commercial BBSes and online services.
3. I want to know where my application will be distributed.
Please notify me if it will be included in printed matter,
floppy, or CD-ROM before its publication. No matter what the
circumstance, I would strongly appreciate a copy of whatever
collection in which it is included. However, I do NOT permit
ASCII corp. (Tokyo, Japan) to include Abroad! in their
publication, in any format.

<CopyRight>
Abroad! is SHAREWARE. This means that if you use this program
and decide to keep it, or in other terms, you have used it for
a couple of days and like it, you are required to send me a
small fee of US $10. If you send me the shareware fee once,
NO additional fee is required for the future version. I will
use the fee as a part of the annual updates of developing
tools and new machine I bought for pilot application
development last year.
<How to register>
There are two ways to register Abroad!
Register on Web Page (Pilot Gear) or use kagi service using
registration program.
(1) Register on Web Page (Pilot Gear)
Please visit my homepage.
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Peaks/9768
(2) Register via E-mail, Fax or Postal Mail (Kagi service)
You can send me the fee through Kagi service using
REGISTER.EXE (Windows) or Register (compressed as MACREG.SIT,
Mac user).
If you send me the fee directly, please do NOT send me US$10
with your checks. (More than $10 is charged for exchange a check
to money in Japan!) Please use postal order or US$10 bill itself
(if it is legal).
Paying for Abroad! is fairly simple. Open the Register program
that accompanies Abroad!. Enter your name, your email address,
and the number of single user licenses you desire for each
program you wish to purchase). Save or Copy or Print the data
from the Register program and send the data and payment to
Kagi. More specifics on the Register program to follow. Kagi
handles my payment processing.
If paying with Credit Card or First Virtual, you can email or
fax the data to Kagi. Their email address is sales@kagi.com
and their fax number is +1 510 652-6589. You can either Copy
the data from Register and paste into the body of an email
message or you can Save the data to a file and you can attach
that file to an email message. There is no need to compress
the data file, it's already pretty small. If you have a fax
modem, just Print the data to the Kagi fax number.
Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. You
will receive an email acknowledgement when it is processed.
Payments sent via fax take up to 10 days and if you provide
a correct internet email address you will receive an email
acknowledgement.
If you are paying with Cash or USD Check you should print the
data using the Register application and send it to the address
shown on the form, which is:
Kagi
1442-A Walnut Street #392-XA
Berkeley, California 94709-1405
USA
You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different
countries but at present if you pay via check, it must be a
check drawn in US Dollars. Kagi cannot accept checks in other
currencies, the conversion rate for non-USD checks is around
USD 15 per check and that is just not practical.
If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all the
data into the Register program and then select Invoice as your
payment method. Print three copies of the form and send it to
your accounts payable people. You might want to highlight the
line that mentions that they must include a copy of the form
with their payment.
Kagi can not invoice your company, you need to act on my
behalf and generate the invoice and handle all the paperwork
on your end.
Please do not fax or email payment forms that indicate Cash,
Check or Invoice as the payment method. As far as we know,
there is still no technology to transfer physical objects via
fax or email and without the payment, the form cannot be processed.
Payments send via postal mail take time to reach Kagi and then
up to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include a correct
email address, you will hear from Kagi when the form is processed.
When you pay, we tell you your registration ID with which you
can register your copy. If you do not have an email address,
please enter your complete postal address and please
remember, we do not know what country you live in so please
enter that into the postal address also.
<Restrictions>
The author will not take responsibility for any damage or loss
that occurs using this program. If you have any bug-reports
or improvements you would like to see (including my poor
English), please send them to me.
